How do I apply my MSU License Update Code?

Overview

When an MSU subscription is renewed for a product using legacy USB security key licensing, HydroComp provides a License Update Code in the renewal confirmation email. This code must be entered into the License Viewer utility to program the physical key with the new subscription period.

Prerequisites

• The USB security key is connected to the computer.
• The HydroComp License Utilities are installed. If not, download from www.hydrocompinc.com/licenseviewer.

Steps

• Open the License Viewer: Start > All Programs > HydroComp License Utilities > License Viewer.
• From the License menu (upper left corner), click Update license w/password.
• If this option is grayed out, see the related article on driver repair.
• Copy and paste the MSU License Update Code from the renewal email into the entry field.
• Click OK.
• Confirm that the expiry date shown in the License Viewer has advanced to the new subscription period.

This is a one-time process per renewal. Once the key has been programmed, the code cannot be reused. If the code is rejected or the date does not advance, contact HydroComp support.

Note for CopyMinder (Software-Based) Licenses

CopyMinder software-based licensing not a License Update Code. The license is updated automatically by HydroComp the when the renewal is processed. The software will refresh the updated subscription period on the next connection to the CopyMinder license server.
