What MSU Includes
An active MSU subscription for a HydroComp product includes:
- Access to all software updates and new release builds distributed during the subscription year.
- Technical support from HydroComp for questions related to the software.
- Access to new features and calculation improvements added in annual release updates.
Subscription Periods
MSU subscriptions run on an annual basis, typically aligned to a calendar year. The subscription period is printed on the Software License Certificate delivered with each purchase or renewal order. The expiry date is also readable in the License Viewer utility (for USB key licenses) or through the Help | menu in the software.
After MSU Expires
When an MSU subscription expires, the software remains fully functional – the installed version continues to run without restriction. However:
- Software update downloads are no longer available.
- Technical support is not included.
- Updating to a newer version of the software requires renewing the MSU for the year in which the update is to be installed.
Users who have allowed their MSU subscription to lapse for multiple years can still renew, subject to HydroComp's current update pricing policy. Contact HydroComp to confirm eligibility and pricing for lapsed subscriptions.
Renewing an MSU Subscription
HydroComp sends MSU renewal notices to the registered contact for each license prior to the subscription expiry. Renewal can also be initiated by contacting HydroComp directly. After completing renewal, a License Update Code is issued for USB key licenses, or the CopyMinder license is updated for software-based licenses.
