Licensing – Current Products
For products using CopyMinder node-locked licensing, the license activation is tied to the hardware profile of the computer on which it was activated. Before installing on a new computer, the must be on the old one.
Legacy USB Security Key Licensing
For products licensed with a Sentinel SuperPro USB hardware key, the license is stored on the physical key rather than the computer. Transfer to a new computer requires:
- Installing the security key drivers on the new computer: www.hydrocompinc.com/drivers.
- Installing the HydroComp software on the new computer using the original download link and password.
- Moving the USB security key from the old computer to the new one.
No license code entry or activation is required – the license data travels with the physical key.
Notes on Floating Server Migration
When migrating a Floating license server to a new computer, client computers that store the server address by hostname will automatically find the new server if the hostname is preserved. Clients that store the server by IP address will need to be updated if the IP changes.
