Symptoms
When launching a HydroComp application, one of the following error messages appears before the main window opens:
- ERROR E0007
- Cannot load library
- Unexpected error
The application does not open. The messages may appear together or individually. In some cases, an additional file name is shown alongside the message identifies the specific missing component.
Root Cause
These errors indicate that a Windows runtime library or system component required by the HydroComp application is missing or incompatible with the current Windows version. This can occur after:
- Replacing hardware (e.g., swapping the SSD on an existing installation).
- Migrating the software to a new computer.
- A Windows update that modified or removed a shared system component.
- An incomplete or corrupted initial installation.
Resolution
- Note the file name in the error message if one is shown. This may help identify the specific missing component.
- Download and install the latest full-install package for the product from the link in the original license delivery email. A full install replaces all program files including runtime dependencies, whereas running only the update installer does not.
- If the error persists after a full reinstall, send a screen capture of the complete error message to HydroComp support. The file name shown in the error is required to diagnose which specific Windows runtime component is missing.
Note on USB Security Key Installations
For legacy installations using a Sentinel SuperPro USB key, this error can also occur if the security key drivers are not installed or are incompatible with the current OS. Ensure the drivers are installed from www.hydrocompinc.com/drivers before reinstalling the software.
